Scared

Alright, so I am flying by myself with all 3 kids tomorrow. I know, but I booked the tickets before Annie was born, and I was living in a dream world to think that this would be no big deal.... Um,... I am scared to death. Please pray for me at 1:15pm on Saturday-This is when we will be passing through the ever so patient and kind security personnel.

Here are a few things fellow flyers will be thinking about me as I struggle to get the kids through the airport and on to the plane:

  1. I have two words for her: SUPER NANNY.

  2. Poor thing, doesn't she know what birth control is?

  3. Just don't make eye contact with her and you won't have to help her get those kids on the plane.
Here is what I will be thinking:

  1. "God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

  2. "Just 2 hours, Holly, and you will never see these people again--you will never have to look them in the eye again."

Seriously, pray for me. Actually, pray for Jack...that he will be in a quiet, calm mood.

Praying that everything goes well...and if anything does happen, you'll be able to laugh about it very soon! :)

I feel for you momma! Hopefully your boys will be comfortable during the flight so you can focus on Annie. I just started to nurse my babies when they got fussy b/c the suction felt good on their ears. Of course I was discreet (spelling) so I wouldn't offend other passengers. I will be praying for you. Hey, it will be another good life experience and I'm sure a good blog post:)

Oh how funny! OK. So, I just did this 2 weeks ago. NOT with 3, but with 2 (I know. big difference!) Whew. well, it was tough, but here were my only survival tips. You may know some of these already, but here goes: 1. Ask for help from anyone who looks like they adore kids or work for the airline 2. Be sure to do the family boarding 3. Travel with as LITTLE stuff as possible. I mean it! (ship stuff to your location, have friends borrow carseats or pack n plays, or rent carseats. Traveling with carseats will make you curse in ways you have not done since you were a rebellious teen!!!!) 4. If you can, have someone help you check in at the ticket counter (you have to go to the ticket counter if you have an infant-in-arms). That way, they can help you carry stuff before you have to pass through security. 5. Use a baby sling/carrier and a stroller. These are worth the lug! that way your hands are free to carry junk, or wipe things, or put your head in your hands (haha). 6. Last but not least, just smile at all the unfortunate nincompoops who have no idea how you bless our nation by being hands-on with your children! Ask the Lord to forgive them, for they know not what they do!
Good luck, girl.

oh yeah, for clarity:
You can check your stroller at 'the gate' (which just means right before you get on the plane). Be sure to get it tagged at the gate counter.
Also, when I said have someone help you to the ticket counter, I meant someone who loves you dearly!!haha.

I'm glad you blogged it...Girl, I was scared too (you might have gotten a text yesterday to pray for me)....Love ya girl...and Patrick already misses the boys. When we flew into NC he said, "Imagine if we see Max and Jack here". We arrived at the airport around 10:30am.

Have a blast with the Family and give Katie and Melanie a big hug from their Latin sista from Miami :o)
